Not all fights are one on one. In a team, no man should stand alone.

‘You can’t keep me.’

Shawn ‘Easy’ Pischlar has given his speech so often, it should be written on the white board in the Dartmouth Cobra’s locker room. Too many of his own teammates have heard the words.

And the games he’s played are finally catching up to him.

To hang on to his freedom, Shawn gave up on ever having someone to call his own. A young woman who expects nothing from him slips into his life and has him ready to toss the rulebook. While the man he loves tempts him to burn it.

Keeping them both would be easy, only…caring about them isn’t.

Because when he lets himself care, he remembers why he wrote the rules in the first place. Every lover, from the casual, to those who steal a piece of his heart, shouldn’t expect more than pleasure. More than passion.

Playing the game, on and off the ice, is his whole world. One he isn’t ready to change.

Except, life doesn’t stop for the game. And when old scars are ripped open, and he’s left bloody and beaten, the rules won’t help him put the pieces of his life back together.

To win this fight, he’ll have to break each and every one.

LOVE! Fighting for her Mate is another in the series that hooked me on Milly Taiden. This book dug its claws into me and I could not put it down. It was seriously a just one more chapter night then BAM book was done. We get answers to some of the questions presented in previous books, there is mystery, attempted murder, kidnapping, laugh out loud snorting comedy, and of course so
me scorching hot sex.
Ellie Wolfe is tired of waiting on her husband and mate Caleb Rahound to come to his senses and complete their mating. Oh, she is slightly ticked by now and takes matters into her own hands. Caleb's Uncle Rocco is causing problems like always. Young women keep going missing. The vampires make another appearance. We find out more about some sketchy deaths in the past. Hmmmmmm the plot thickens. I don't want to give out spoilers so not gonna continue, but just know that this is a "kick-ass" book!

Mountainside Resort by Roxanne Witherell

Just as Brianna unlocked her door and started to open it, she caught a glimpse of something to her right. Before she could register what it is or even turn her head, a hard object hit the back of her head. Everything started going blurry and she could feel herself starting to fall forward. She tried to catch herself on the table beside the door. Missing the table, she sees two of, she clears it of... all contents as she falls to the floor. Brianna began pushing herself up, when hands wrap around her arms and yanks her up. She is now face to face with Derek, he seems different. He has a dark aura around him. Although that could just be her imagination since she isn't thinking too clearly and her brain seems to be pounding against her skull. Brianna takes a step back and tries to pull herself free from his grasp with no success. Derek backhanded her across the face.
“Don't fight me, you won't win.” He spat at her, as she struggles to break free.
The more she fought, the bigger Derek's smile got. He was enjoying this. If only she was wearing pants instead of this stupid skirt. The skirt wouldn't allow her to get her leg up far enough, to kick him in his nuts, so Brianna decides to stomp on his foot with her heel.
“Son of a bitch!” He yells as he takes his hands off her to grab his foot. Bri bolted for the door but before she could turn the door knob, Derek had grabbed her blouse and yanked her backwards, ripping her blouse in the process.
“I said don't fucking fight me!” His voice was filled with anger as he backhands her across the face again, this time splitting her lip. How in the world can this thin man hit this damn hard? He had recovered from the heel to the foot, and now had her arms again, squeezing them tight.
“You think you can get away from me?” He says glaring at her. “Not this time. This time I will have your full attention. No passing me by with only a nod.”

My Review:
Wow... I believe this is now my favorite Julie Morgan book. Logan, is deployed and goes through hell. He talks to his wife after a bad event, later that night he is woken up with news that his wife was killed in an accident. He soon discovers that his wife was having an affair. This results in his self destructive behavior of booze and women, and more booze and more women. Does not matter who, when or where. This behavior lands him in jail. In order for charges to be dropped and him to keep his job he must go to counseling. Miranda is determined to bring Logan back to the living without falling for him.

Be sure to have tissue handy. I cried when his wife died, got angry with her for the affair, then wanted to slap some sense into Logan at times. I could not and did not put this book down. Was hooked from the very beginning. I loved the story, the events, and the HEA. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
